Creative Commons LogoCreative Commons is an alternative method for method for marking creative products and publications. Creative Commons is becoming increasingly useful for higher education because it will allow faculty to use and share materials without worrying as much about breaking copyright. For example, if you need an image for a module or lesson plan, even one that is just as a general visual introduction to the unit, first try searching at Flickr under the Advanced Search page. You may select "Only search within Creative Commons-licensed content" which would then allow you to use the image without fear of breaking copyright. All you need to do is give proper credit to the person who produced/published the image.
